An accountability association is an organization that helps ensure homeschool families comply with state laws regarding homeschooling. South Carolina requires homeschoolers to legally operate under one of 3 options. Learn Together Legacies is an Option 3 association.

Yes, you can homeschool multiple children under Learn Together Legacies. We are here to support your family and provide guidance for each child's unique educational journey.

The student must be at least 5 years old on or before September 1st to enroll in Legacies. We follow the Compulsory Attendance Law: SC Code SECTION 59-63-20

No. As long as you accumulate 180 days of school, your hours can vary.

You will need some type of record showing what you teach and/or activities you do each day, a semi-annual progress report, an attendance record, and a portfolio of your students’ work.

Yes, there is a membership fee to join Learn Together Legacies. These fees help support the administrative costs, events, and services provided to families. Specific fee details are available on our registration page.

Yes and Yes. A diploma will be awarded to students upon completion of the required high school courses. Learn Together Legacies offers diploma certificates to graduating seniors for an additional fee, though parents may also issue their own diplomas if preferred. Additionally, homeschool students are eligible for grants and scholarships typically available to public school students, and colleges actively recruit homeschooled students as well.

Yes, you may switch associations at any point. Legacies does not offer refunds on membership fees.

No, we are an Option 3 accountability association. Our role is to ensure that homeschooling families remain compliant with Option 3 legal requirements in the state of South Carolina. Students aren’t able to be enrolled in public/private school and an accountability association at the same time.

No, Learn Together Legacies is an accountability association exclusively for South Carolina residents. To become a member, you must establish residency in South Carolina and obtain a valid South Carolina driver's license. Alternatively, you may consider seeking accountability associations in your current state of residence.

Yes, our sister organization, Learn Together Lowcountry, offers various extracurricular activities, field trips, and social events for families. We also provide support for various educational needs, including special education resources and enrichment programs.
